On the 16th and 17th of May 2015, we held our Autumn i love photography weekend digital photography course.
On the Saturday we were located at the Griffith Community Hall, where many like minded people joined together in the art of photography. We were so privileged to have such an enthusiastic group of people, who all wanted to improve their digital photography skills and enjoy a lovely weekend learning more about the craft of photography. We had a terrific time!
This photography course is held over the weekend, starting on Saturday morning and finishing on the Sunday evening.
Contact us and we can arrange a date for a group, or, we will nominate a date that suits once we have enough numbers.

The first day was dedicated to learning or refreshing the groups understanding of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and also lighting & composition.
We enjoyed practical exercises along the way to help cement the principles being learned. and enjoyed a varied morning, lunch & afternoon teas at our base for the day!

Day 2- and we meet in the beautiful Commonwealth Park for a free session followed by a lovely brunch at The Deck at Regatta Point.
Beautiful back lighting always lovely for portraiture at the beginning and end of the day when shooting on location outdoors.
Our one day digital photography course. Developed to arm you with the essentials for digital photography beginners to get out there and use your DSLR camera.
We will cover the dials and buttons, what they mean, aperture, iso, composition and framing and then be part of a real live portrait photo shoot with an award winning photographer to put all that you just learned into practice straight away.
Print critique session with the group over brunch at The Deck. It was terrific to see some of the students favourite photos and there where certainly some great photos to be seen. This one by Lee.
Quick stop off to the Sky Space at the National Gallery Of Australia. An awesome artwork in itself...
These 2 hour digital photo editing classes will focus on the digital photo editing basics.

- The differences between RAW and JPGs
- Software choices and benefits
- Editing a RAW file
- Basic colour and contrast corrections
- Extracting and saving
- Online services and backing up options
Then off to The Yarralumla Woolshed for an open family/loved one session where the group had the opportunity to be photographed with persons close to them.
This is two of the mentors Emily & Lauren being photographed by the lovely Kara. Luckily we are file sharing so their will be some lovely keepsakes for everyone involved.
From there, off to Weston Park to walk around the English Gardens then enjoy afternoon tea & coffee and delicious freshly baked scones with jam & cream - yum!
To finish off, Up the hill to one of the many of Canberra's stunning reserves to enjoy the sunset and the last light of day. We literally did finish on a high! Well done team!
They really did seem to come a long way over the weekend, but as I say, It's a journey. keep on it, keep practicing and having fun! I am really looking forward to posting some of the groups amazing images soon. Stay tuned....
